I am a compassionate individual who believes in the resiliency and potential of the human spirit. As a therapist, I seek to create a safe, comfortable, accepting, professional, environment that promotes trust and openness to healing and self-discovery.
Through my training and experience as a nurse and psychotherapist, I have gained knowledge and skills in providing psychotherapy and working closely with adolescents, adults, and seniors from diverse cultures with complex mental and physical issues. I have experience in treating anxiety, panic attacks, sexual/verbal/emotional abuse, developmental trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders, depression, schizophrenia, end of life issues, and mental health issues surrounding physical illness and disabilities. I utilize a variety of evidence based therapy techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art, and mindfulness, based on each individual’s current needs and long term goals.
I view working with individuals as a shared journey that leads to authenticity, healing, wholeness, and transformation.
