John Prestby, PhD
Dr. John Prestby is a licensed practicing Psychologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. Dr. Prestby holds a Doctorate from the University of South Carolina in Clinical and Community Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Marquette University. His primary therapy orientation is Existential Psychotherapy. He also holds specialized expertise in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the area of Spirituality and Recovery.
John has extensive experience from a myriad of professional settings including his work in private practice, as a clinician for Milwaukee County, his work in outpatient and inpatient units, as well as clinical supervision, training and program development. He was the Clinical Program Director of the Intensive Day Treatment Program at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division for over 25 years.
Dr. Prestby works with adults in a wide array of behavioral health concerns. Dr. Prestby’s full-time practice at the Shore Clinic’s Mayfair Office includes individual psychotherapy/counseling, group therapy, skill-building groups, consultation and training.
